OK. So I've been going through it in my head. Did I really run that much faster yesterday than during the 18-miler? It didn't really feel like I did. I mean, maybe a little for the first couple of miles, but then I thought I slowed down.
So, I double checked my Garmin stats. Apparently, I didn't look at it correctly this morning. (I was probably still asleep.) Anyway, it turns out that I DID run slower yesterday. By at least 1 to 1.5 minutes per mile on average!!! Now I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse about my run yesterday. :-/
So, what DID I do wrong yesterday? Maybe nothing, huh? Maybe I was just having a bad day. Maybe I'm beating myself up for nothing. Today is a new week and that's what I'm going to focus on.
And, on that note I'd better go do some cross-training... :-)

CINDY!!!! You just had a bad day! Quit beating yourself up--it happens. It's hot, humid, and hilly. We all have our share of off days! You did great---think of how easy Chicago will be--you've got it in the bag!
Nothing wrong in doing a long slow distance. Yesterday was about distance not time and you probably did more to help your marathon time than going fast! Get to the starting line healthy for 40 degree start weather!!
We all have good and bad days. You weren’t the only one to walk a lot on spillway. Just keep training you will do fine.
